The day after yesterday
I meant to make my first real entry yesterday but i was at a loss to think of a way to begin. So i’ll start on day two.. the pressures off!
I turned thirty last september. New years day last year was the beginning of a mini-life-crisis. My thirtieth was looming. I felt i had a kind of different feeling to other friends who’ve reached this milestone.. rather than wondering where the last thirty years went, i was freaking out that i’d done everything and had nowhere to go from here.. I was married at twenty-one (met Ben at 16), had Thom at 24 and Lachie at 27, have a house (and a mortgage) and i’m a full-time mum to my beautiful (well, most of the time) boys.
I have to say, my birthday passed, the days flew by and i came to grips with it all. I haven’t travelled so i have that to look forward to, and I can spend years enjoying my children as they learn and grow. I saw on a fellow bloggers’ page that she listed thirty things she’d like to achieve before she reaches thirty-one. Since i’m half-way there already (wouldn’t want to put too much pressure on myself!), i thought i’d list thirty things i’d like to achieve in the next few years.
- couture sewing course
- patternmaking course
- travel overseas (at least once)
- remain a full-time mum
- become a Parent Helper at school
- resume yoga
- learn to screenprint
- make a trenchcoat
Well, that was a start. I think this will have to be a work in progress because i have to pick up the boys! Stay tuned..
A new day, a new blog!
Life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing; every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves, ‘This day let me make a sound beginning’.
